happy anniverary?!?
Happy Anniversary?!?! Well, let's just say that our anniversary did NOT go according to plan. Wednesday morning, Kurt and I had coffee together, like normal. The morning was on schedule. 7:30 - Kurt left for work. 8:00 - The boys got out of bed. We ate breakfast. Everything was running smoothly. Until - 9:00!!! I walked into the living room to find Kaden throwing-up on the floor. I immediately picked him up and carried him into the kitchen (I was trying to get him to the sink). As soon as I stepped onto the kitchen floor, he threw-up again. I walked through it, lost my balance, and fell. I landed on my behind and Kaden flew out of my arms and hit the back of his head on the tile floor about 10 feet from me (I'm sure he slid most of that). I picked him up and he threw-up again! Hey, did I mention that he drank a blueberry smoothie for breakfast. Oh, Yes! Blueberries EVERYWHERE! Once I managed to get a hold of myself, I called our pediatrician. He gave me head injury signs to look for but unfortunately, head injury signs are similar to flu-like symptoms. I called my cousin, Mel and she drove over (they live next door) and helped me get the situation under control. Kaden was a little out of it but I wasn't sure if it was because he didn't feel good or because he had hit his head!?! After a few hours, we went to the Immediate Care where the doctor checked out both of us. Kaden was fine and he took x-rays of my back because at this point, I was having trouble sitting down. The rest of the day, we just took it easy. We didn't bring dinner to the Kurt's store (which we normally do on Wednesdays). When Kurt got home, we agreed that we "redo" our anniversary!

valentine's day week
Our Anniversary Getaway:
Kurt and I attended a Marriage Encounter in Holland, MI this past weekend. This special weekend experience, lasting from Friday evening until early Sunday evening, is designed to help married couples improve their communication in order to deepen and enrich their relationship. This allowed us the opportunity to focus on our relationship and strength it. We learned daily skills to help us take our marriage to a level we only dreamt of. Late Sunday evening we traveled north and stayed in a Bed and Breakfast until Wednesday. We relaxed, visited local shops, and truly enjoyed each others company. We deeply missed the boys but we believe one of the best things we can give them is to keep our marriage healthy.
Field trip to Krispy Kremes:
We visited Krispy Kreme Doughnuts today with Connor's preschool class and learn how they make doughnuts! We had so much fun! The preschoolers even got to make their own doughnuts, dip it in chocolate, and sprinkles. Connor and April, his best friend whom he's grown up with, had a wonderful time. We laughed as 18 preschoolers made and ate their doughnuts! That was a great time.
Kaden - 21 months old:
Kaden is growing up so fast. He's talking all the time and most of it you can actually understand. He follows Connor everywhere but is definitely his own person. He's doing well using the potty and but we are not stressing over it. Our favorite time of the day with Kaden: (1) When Kurt gets home, Kaden's entire world stops. He yells and runs to his Daddy. That's priceless. (2) He's beginning to pray at night and nap time. He's so precious. He prays for his family and ALWAYS prays for Puppy...his dog that we sleeps with. He adores Puppy!

exciting week
We had a wonderful week. Kaden, 20 months old, decided he wanted to start using the potty! He only goes once a day, but hey, it's a start, right?
On Saturday, we took the boys roller skating! They did GREAT! It took a little while for them to get the hang of it, but soon they were skating along... slowly!
